Beanie |
Beanie is the president of Curves Are Beautiful, a nonprofit organization that focuses on educating society on body image issues and eating disorders. She is certified as a public speaker by the National Eating Disorder Association (NEDA). Beanie was diagnosed with anorexia nervosa in 2012. She is now stable in her recovery and seeks to help others reach that point as well.
As a competitive soccer player, Beanie has traveled the world representing her state and country. Beanie’s first memory of body image issues was at four years old and the same bad body image issues continued with her through the years as she played competitive soccer. Her eating disorder escalated during her final years of soccer leading up to her diagnosis. Despite having many colleges recruiting her to play, Beanie’s eating disorder required her to quit soccer. Through the midst of her recovery, Beanie founded Curves Are Beautiful. Beanie has united a world wide purple army who wear the bracelets which she sends to remind them that Curves Are Beautiful. A little bracelet but a huge message. Curves Are Beautiful bracelets are now worn in nearly every continent on the globe. These bracelets lend support and give hope to those suffering from this real mental illness. Beanie is available for speaking engagements worldwide. She shares a message important to all on how to recognize the warning signs and how to get help for yourself or those you love. If you would like Beanie to come deliver a message to your group of hope, help, and recovery please email Curves Are Beautiful, or reach out via the Curves Are Beautiful Facebook page.
